Technical Support Section in Media Affairs Division visits KNPC for the Archiving System
KJO's Technical Support Team during their visit to KNPC's Public Relations and Media Department
On the 24th of April, a team from KJO's Technical Support Section in Media Affairs Division paid a visit to the Public Relations and Media Department in Kuwait National Petroleum Company.
The goal of the visit was for KJO's Technical Support section to have an idea of the archiving system used in the Public Relations and Media Department in KNPC, which will help them in completing the archiving of KJO's pictures in a faster way. The KNPC archive includes pictures, videos, speeches, brochures, and books conducted by KNPC.
The presentation started off by defining the system to the visitors, problems faced during the archiving project, ways of avoiding them in future similar projects, and the process of archiving. The presenter also explained the ways of accessing the information needed in a convenient and fast way, collecting archival material for the purpose of storing in a variety of ways. KNPC's archiving system included the entire period from the beginning of KNPC in the year 1960. This included all images and visual materials of the company's films, safety awareness material, and local fuel marketing material, along with other information.
The presentation showed the visiting team on how to use the system, look at the advantages and features of the system. This allowed the team to know the speed on which the system worked, which affects the speed of looking up archived news, images, events, and activities, saving time and effort.
