Since January 5, 2003, the oil and gas exploration, development and production in the offshore Divided Zone (ex-Neutral Zone) between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia have been jointly conducted by Kuwait Gulf Oil Company (KGOC), a subsidiary of the state-owned Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and Aramco Gulf Operations Company (AGOC), a subsidiary of the state-owned Saudi Aramco. (Concession Agreement with Kuwait expired on January 4, 2003, until when such joint operations had been conducted between AOC and AGOC following the expiry of Concession Agreement with Saudi Arabia on February 27, 2000.)
AOC has been continuously involved in the KGOC/AGOC joint operations under the Technical Service Agreement with KGOC.
